Happy Christmas 2012
!!!!
Written by George, the cat: As guest editor of the Wilson Christmas Newsletter (“what, are they still doing that? Jeez, you’d have thought that they’d have given that up by now”…) then I’ll do a purrrrfect job in summarising Wilson life, so much better than the usual tosh written by the small noisy one.
Yes, the small noisy one. So damn noisy. Most of the time I hide behind the sofa or at the other side of the house to avoid the small one. Mind you, he’s not even that small anymore, making him even harder to avoid. On the plus side, he’s old enough to feed me now. Anyway, from what I can work out, the small noisy one likes:
- Football. Man City primarily after they won some shiny cup. He went to see Wrexham, Leicester City & Nottingham Forest play games this year. But he supports none of these. Weird.
- Cycling. He, like his Dad (the stick legged one), seems to like dressing in lycra. This lycra appears to make these humans look like the fellas they watch on tele doing this cycling thing, only in Stick Legs’s case, the tummy is somewhat more lumpy than the ones on tele. Stick Legs got less fat in the summer as he was up to rides of 70 miles, although he’s got a bit fatter again of late, complaining about “dark nights”… When they are not doing cycling, they are watching cycling, and I’ve become accustomed to them shouting Wiggo or Cav at the top of their voices. (Incidently, Stick Legs did a few cyclo cross races and a few road races and even – somehow – managed a 2nd place (in a very small race)! Yeah, I’ve no idea how he managed that either).

Stick Legs disappeared off to Valkenburg to watch the World lycra-clad bloke Championships for about 5 days. He also went off on some work trip (which meant the lycra didn’t go with him) that was 3 days on the Rhine on some 4* boat which was described as “ace” and apparently the food was “ace” too – we could tell that as he’d got even fatter.

Apart from that, small noisy one, fat one, and the one who sits at the table marking books a lot, all went away together to France to see the end of the race for some bloke to wear a yellow jersey. They stood right next to this bloke – Wiggo – as he did his lap of honour – they took that photo! They also went on the Eurostar but the noisy one had no idea that he was going to Paris until they were actually stood in St Pancras to get the train. It was a surprise trip which made the noisy one even noisier for a bit. The only surprise I get it when I get dry cat food instead of jelly covered meat cat food.

| Michelle & Paul at the wedding, and some scoundrel in the middle |
The one which marks lots of books has spent a lot of time in the kitchen this year making a ‘wedding cake’. This wedding cake had no jellied duck or cat biscuits in it and was therefore horrible but the humans kept saying it was nice. The cake was made for Stick Legs’s sister Michelle who got married to Paul. The humans insist I put in a photo of the happy couple :-)
The one which marks books has also got herself a bike and now occasionally rides said bike around with noisy & Stick Legs. When she comes home, she does tend to complain that parts of her body ache whilst Stick Legs laughs and claims it gets easier….

What else have they done? Well – take away the decorating of a bathroom a couple of years ago – and once again my owners have failed to decorate a single room though Skinny Legs did re-felt the shed in the dark, with a head torch on which certainly worried my cat mates and most of their owners (“what is that fella doing on the shed roof in the dark???”). Is that the best he could do DIY wise in an entire year?

Stick Legs & Noisy also went to see the absolutely wonderful Olympics. Clearly – and obviously – they went to see the lycra clad bloke events but even as a cat, I could tell that the whole atmosphere of the country was raised a country mile by the euphoria of the Olympics. We just need the Olympics every year! The Olympic torch came through Market Harborough too!
The humans have asked to have the last say. They say: To all of you, living all over the place, people we rarely see or rarely speak to, our apologies for never ringing, forgetting birthdays or just generally being a bit useless. May we wish you all a terrific Christmas & a wonderful New Year!
Lots of love
